AfroBasket 2021 qualifiers: Good news for Uganda Silverbacks as FIBA sets dates for pending Group E games


The Uganda Silverbacks have received a boast after the International Basketball Federation, FIBA has set dates for the pending AfroBasket 2021 qualifiers Group E games.

Silverbacks group E games were postponed on 18th February after five members of the Ugandan delegation returned positive results of COVID-19 prompted the postponement of the game.

In a statement released on the FIBA website, the International Basketball Federation has confirmed that those postponed games will play between June 15 and July 15.

“Following the postponement of Uganda’s games in application of the COVID-19 Protocol for FIBA Official National Team and Club Competitions and the advice of its Medical Commission, the pending Group E Uganda games, Uganda – Egypt, Morocco – Uganda and Cape Verde – Uganda, will be played between June 15 and July 15, 2021 at a venue to be decided.” Part of the statement published on website read.
