Former Vipers and KCCA FC Forward Tito Okello scored a first-half penalty as the Bright Stars of South Sudan edged the Cranes in the second leg of the AFCON 2021 qualifier match played at the Nyayo International Stadium, Kenya.

Okello stood up and scored the game’s winner- a penalty after Wol Makueth was bought down in the forbidden area by defender Halid Lwaliwa in the 36th minute of the match.

Moments before the goal, the Cranes were reduced to ten men after Khalid Aucho received his matching orders for bringing down the goalscorer after a defensive mix-up.

Uganda cranes best goalscoring chance came in the second half when Farouk Miya’s free-kick hit the upright and bounced off the line.

The Bright Stars also finished the game a man down after substitute Musa Abdallah was red carded for a foul on Emmanuel Arnold Okwi.

The result means Uganda stays second in group B having garnered seven points from their opening games and will face Burkina Faso next year in March.
