Abraiz Mir Ali delivered a composed unbeaten century as the Baby Cricket Cranes continued their flawless campaign at the ICC U19 Men’s World Cup Africa Division 2 Qualifier, powering Uganda to a convincing 175-run victory over Ghana U19 at the IPRC Cricket Oval.

Uganda won the toss and chose to bat, making one adjustment to the team that defeated Mozambique, with Ronald Rubangakene replacing Larry Elton Itaagi.
The Baby Cricket Cranes made a measured start before Abraiz assumed responsibility for the innings.
After Uganda reached 53/1 at the end of the opening 10 overs, the right-hander settled in and gradually took control, steering his side through the middle overs with maturity and patience.
Abraiz remained unbeaten on 107 from 131 deliveries, striking five fours and two sixes.
His century was the centerpiece of an innings built around intelligent shot selection, partnerships and the ability to absorb pressure before accelerating when opportunities arose.
After the early dismissal of Samuel Ahaisibwe, Abraiz helped rebuild the innings and continued to guide Uganda through the more demanding stages of the middle order.
Ronald Rubangakene provided a late burst with 22 from just 11 balls, while Robert Owili added 18.
Kenneth Isiiko and Daniel Rubangakene also made useful contributions as Uganda gathered momentum late in the innings.
The final six overs produced 50 runs, lifting Uganda to an imposing 270/8 from their 50 overs.
Ghana never managed to establish a meaningful response in the chase as Uganda’s bowling attack maintained control from the outset.
Richard Sohera was particularly impressive, delivering a miserly 10-over spell that yielded 2/7, including seven maidens.
Jackson Asiku claimed 3/28 from his 10 overs, while Devanshkumar Ritesh Patel finished with 2/2 in 3.5 overs.
The pressure eventually proved too much for Ghana, who were dismissed for 95 in 41.5 overs.
Jacob Ayolehene was their leading scorer with 26, but regular wickets and disciplined bowling prevented the hosts from building any substantial partnerships.
Uganda’s 175-run triumph keeps the Baby Cricket Cranes as the only unbeaten side in the competition, with three wins from three matches.
The result further strengthens their promotion push as they target a return to Africa Division One.
Abraiz was an obvious choice for Player of the Match after his unbeaten 107, an innings that provided both stability and the attacking impetus Uganda needed to post a match-winning total.

The Baby Cricket Cranes return to action on Thursday, August 13, against Sierra Leone U19 at the Gahanga Main Ground.
With their perfect record intact, Uganda will look to maintain the momentum as they pursue promotion to Africa Division One and continue their quest for a fourth appearance at the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
