Four players who feature Uganda Premier League sides have been named in South Sudanese 26-man squad set to take part in the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations Qualifiers double header against Uganda Cranes.
This came to light after South Sudan head coach Nicholas Jean Dupuis announced the squad on Wednesday morning. These Four (4) players include Atendele Mawa Geringa (NEC FC), Okocha Rashid (NEC FC), Gadafi Wahab (NEC FC) and Onekalit Francis (SC Villa).
The team also includes three other players that have once piled their trade in the Ugandan League like Tito Okello (Vipers & KCCA), Emmanuel Loki (KCCA & Bright stars), Rashid Toha (Vipers & Arua Hill)and Alfred Leku (Express, Maroons, URA, Vipers & Proline)
Uganda Cranes are currently top of Group K with four points, after a hard fought 2-2 draw away to South Africa and comfortable 2-0 home win over Congo Brazzaville in Namboole in September.
For South Sudan, they are currently bottom with no point after losing their first two games against Congo Brazzaville away (2-o) and at home to South Africa (2-3).
