2021 AFCON U20: Uganda Hippos to play in Mini Tournament in Tanzania

The Uganda U-20 men’s Football team, the Uganda Hippos will play in Mini tournament organised in Tanzania in preparations for the AFCON U20 tournament in Mauritania.

The Hippos will battle out with Tanzania and Nambia in a tournament set to run from 1st- 10th February in Dar es Salaam.

The Morley Byekwaso’s side, which began official training on January 21st at the MTN Omondi Stadium, are set to travel to Tanzania on Monday evening .

The Hippos, who won their two practice matches against KCCA FC this week are set to play against URA FC and Vipers SC this weekend before Morley Byekwaso trims his squad to the final 25 players.

The Uganda Hippos qualified for the U-20 tournament after winning the CECAFA regional qualifiers in December, beating Tanzania in the finals 4-1.

Early this week, the Hippos were pitted in group A of the AFCON U20 tournament with hosts Mauritania, Cameroon and Mozambique.
