2021 AFCON Qualifiers: Hippos duo included as Abdallah Mubiru summons Cranes squad

Two Uganda Hippos players have been named among the 31 players that were summoned by the Interim Uganda Cranes head coach Abdallah Mubiru on Friday morning.

Mubiru, alongside his assistant coach Livingstone Mbabazi named the team in a brief event held at the FUFA Complex, Mengo.

Garvin Kizito and Bobosi Byaruhanga, two players from the Uganda Hippos squad that is currently in Mauritania for the AFCON U20 finals have received their maiden calls.

Wingers Abdul Lumala has been included in the provisional squad having fully recovered from a knee injury that had kept him out of action since 2019, while Wycombe’s striker Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru has also been called into the squad.

Uganda is second in group B on seven points and will face leaders Burkina Faso on 24th March in Kampala before ending the campaign away against Malawi.
