1ZONE MMA to host first ever live Mixed Martial Arts Event in Uganda

On Saturday, the 1ZONE MMA will host it’s first live Mixed Martial Arts event at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

After a successful Season One of the fights, this will mark the end of Season Two of the 1Zone MMA fights.

According to 1ZONE MMA President, Gomes Weverson he wants the platform become number  one on the continent.

We had our first event in April which was online. However, wanting to be the number one MMA platform in continent, we had to partner with the best.” he said

The fights have always been streamed live online since April 2022. This time it will feature 11 fights and 22 fighters from 7 countries which are Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda.

The headlining fight will be between Uganda’s Joseph Bonane and Shifa Awal of Ethiopia.

The event will be hosted by sponsor Nbs sports’ Ronnie McVex, Etania and Sheila Salta with musical entertainment from Navio.

The other partners on board are 1Zone MMA in partnership with NBS Sport, Kampala Serena Hotel, Talent Africa and FITE TV.

A brief about 1Zone MMA.

One Zone MMA Ltd is the 1st Mixed Martial Arts Platform/Company in East Africa, operating out of Uganda with a goal to promote MMA fighters in the region.

It also aims at getting the fighters a global recognition by providing a professional platform for the fighters to showcase their diverse and unique MMA fighting skills.
