The Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) has summoned 12 players to the Gazelles that will enter into a non-residential training camp in preparation for the 2021 Zone Five FIBA AfroBasket qualifiers in Rwanda .
The tournament will take place between the 12th -17th of July 2021 in Kigali, which means some of the teams will officially start training this Friday 18th June.
Uganda will battle with hosts Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, South Sudan and Burundi for a place at the FIBA Women AfroBasket in Cameroon in September.
The qualifier tournament was scheduled to take place in Cairo but Egypt withdrew from hosting the tourney due to unforeseen circumstances, handed the right for Rwanda to host the prestigious Zone Five qualifying tournament.
