UVF: Nasiwu makes return, vows to unseat Namanda in the coming elections

Former Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) president Sadik Nasiwu has announced his intention to return and outsit the current president Hadija Namanda in the coming elections slated for the 31st, January 2021.

Nasiwu, who left the presidential office in 2016 after serving two terms is eager to return to volleyball’s biggest office.

“We are coming with passion, sacrifice and dedication towards the development of the game more than before. I take this opportunity to thank the current executive board and president for the efforts but more can be done as we have learnt a lot during our time out of office,” he said.

Nasiwu has banked his return to volleyball on how the game in Uganda has progressed in the last four years and is willing to push it forward.

“After personal consultations, analysis and evaluation of the status of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball in Uganda, especially the last four years alongside the individual, institution requests, I have decided to pick the nomination form for the position of president of UVF come 31st Jan 2021 elective congress,” Nasiwu narrated.

Sadik Nasiwu is remembered for having led the volleyball federation for two successful and having started the volleyball league in Uganda. He also brought on board the league sponsors of NSSF.

The Uganda Volleyball elective Congress will see a number of eight posts being contested for early next year in January.

The posts include President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, General Secretary, Assistant General Secretary, Treasurer, Club Representatives (3), and District Associations Representative (3).
