As officially confirmed, Obua’s appointment comes with a number of changes in the backroom with Peter Byaruhanga Adyeri taking the as first assistant coach’s role, while former assistant to the late Timbe, Fred Muhumuza is 2nd Assistant. The changes also leave Robert Mukasa as the 3rd Assistant Coach, Ilic Milos as the Fitness Coach, Byron Okuba as Strength and conditioning Coach, Swaibu Ssebagala as the Goalkeeping Coach, Joseph Lubega as the team Doctor, Isaac Ngondwe as the Physio, Luggya Ronald as the Kits Manager assisted by Bosco Otim.

He (Obua) takes charge of a team languishing in 7th place on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table with only 2 wins and 3 draws and a loss having scored 5 and conceded 3 – a purely low tally.

Obua takes charge of a team in transition and is expected to guide them back to their competitive edge and possibly fight for the title again as was the case under Sam Ssimbwa.
