  • URA FC 4-0 Bright Stars – Nakivubo

In a dominant performance, URA FC defeated Bright Stars 4-0 in a Uganda Premier League match played at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo. This victory marked the tax collectors’ third consecutive win, further boosting their position in the league standings.

The match began with URA FC asserting their dominance early on. From the first whistle, the tax collectors created a series of attacking opportunities as they looked to break down Bright Stars’ defense. Their persistence paid off in the 16th minute when Joseph Ssemujju opened the scoring, giving URA FC a deserved lead.

The first half saw an injury setback for URA FC, as Ivan Ahimbisibwe had to be replaced by Bruno Bunyaga in the 28th minute. However, Bunyaga quickly made his presence felt, scoring just 10 minutes after coming on. His clinical finish doubled URA FC’s lead and left Bright Stars struggling to find a response.

At halftime, URA FC led 2-0, and with the momentum on their side, they looked poised to add to their tally in the second half.

The second half continued in similar fashion, with URA FC pushing forward and showing no signs of slowing down. Moses Aliro added a third goal for the tax collectors early in the second half, making it 3-0 and effectively sealing the game for the hosts.

Bunyaga, who had already made an impact, was not finished yet. In the 87th minute, he completed his brace, further adding to Bright Stars’ woes as URA FC took a comfortable 4-0 lead.

Despite having won their previous match against Police FC, Bright Stars’ struggles continued in this fixture. With just 15 points from 23 games, they now find themselves in 15th position in the relegation zone.

Their fight for survival in the league looks increasingly difficult as they continue to struggle for consistency.

On the other hand, URA FC’s third consecutive victory sees them climb to 4th place in the league standings with 39 points. Their impressive form under head coach Alex Isabirye suggests they are a team to watch as the season progresses.
