Uganda Premier League
- BUL 1-0 Kitara
- Police 0-1 Vipers
- Lugazi 1-0 Express
BUL FC brought Kitara FC’s remarkable defensive run to an end with a hard-fought 1-0 victory in a Uganda Premier League clash at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.
A second-half strike from Jerome Kirya proved decisive as Abbey Kikomeko’s side secured their fourth win in five matches. Kirya capitalized on a well-worked setup from Hillary Onek just eight minutes after the restart to hand BUL FC all three points.
The defeat was a bitter pill for Kitara, who had maintained an impressive 10-game streak without conceding in the league. However, their resilience was finally broken as BUL FC completed a season double over the Royals, having won the reverse fixture 3-1.
The first half saw both teams adopt a cautious approach with little attacking intent. But the second period sparked into life when Kirya found the back of the net from close range. Kitara responded with relentless pressure, but BUL’s defense stood firm, denying the visitors any breakthrough.
Karim Ndugwa nearly extended BUL’s lead, only to be thwarted by Kitara’s goalkeeper, Chrispus Kusiima. Despite the narrow scoreline, the result will please Coach Kikomeko, especially with BUL FC playing at a neutral venue due to ongoing renovations at Njeru.
With this win, BUL FC remains third on the 16-team log after 18 games, while Kitara stays fourth with 28 points. Up next, BUL will host URA FC, while Kitara will look to bounce back when they welcome Mbarara City FC.
