Mengo City captain Anthony Male is confident his team can maintain their momentum as they face QC Mbarara in the BetPawa Futsal Super League on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Despite being unbeaten in 11 league games, Mengo City sits second, four points behind leaders Park FC. Male insists his side must win to keep their title hopes alive.
“QC Mbarara is improving, but they can’t stand in our way. We are chasing both the league and the Uganda Cup. We either close the gap or reduce it, we won’t let it widen,” Male told FAU media.
Mengo City last played a league game in mid-January, drawing 3-3 with Park FC before the break. They returned to action last Friday, edging Crown Lubiri on penalties in the Uganda Cup.
Their first-round meeting with QC Mbarara ended in a 3-3 draw, but with QC currently 9th with 11 points, Mengo City aims to assert dominance at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
Ahead of their match, the league will resume with Kabowa Dream Team facing Kisenyi FC, followed by four more fixtures to complete a six-game matchday.
