Uganda Cup: Tooro and Wakiso ease to the round of 16, Proline shoot-out MYDA – Summary of Tuesday’s results


Tooro  United,  Wakiso United and Proline FC all progressed to the round of 16 of the 2020 Stanbic Uganda cup  after battling past their respectively opponents on Tuesday 11th, February.

Tooro United beat Kansai Plascon 2-1 at Mukono Bishops SS play grounds, Mukono while Wakiso Giants humiliated regional side MYDA FC 5-0 at the Kabaka Kyabagu Stadium.

Captain Kawooya and Nicolas Kagaba scored for Mohammed Kiseka’s side as Henry kitegenyi bagged a consolation from the spot kick.

At the Kabaka Kyabagu stadium hosts Wakiso Giants eased past regional league side MYDA FC in a 5-0 goals galore. Hassan Wasswa Dazo bagged a brace as Lawrence Bukenya, Amis Muwonge and veteran striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma added on a goal each to gift coach Steven Bengo a first win on his return to the touchline. Bengo replaced reportedly sacked Livingstone Mbabazi.

Defending champions Proline had to wait for the spot kicks to knockout resilient  regional side Admin  FC after succumbing to a late equalizer from Alele Walter in a game played at the Startimes Stadium, Lugogo

Diego Hamis Kiiza had put the hosts ahead in the first half of the game but his effort was neutralised  by Admin’s  Alele Walter only to send the game into penalties.

Mustafa Mujuzi, Mato Rodgers, Brian Umony, Diego Hamis Kiiza and James Begesa netted for Proline in the spot kicks. Allele Walter who bagged an equalizer failed to put the ball past Hassan Matovu in  penalties. Vitus Obbo, Allan Kirunda and Raymond Othieno scored from the penalty mark for the game to end 5-3 after penalties.
