Plascon Uganda injected 35 million shillings into the Uganda Badminton Association for an upcoming international tournament at the company’s head office on Friday morning.
This package is set for the forthcoming Uganda Para Badminton International tournament that will toss off on 1st and climax on 7th July at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
It is no secret that Plascon is one of the top companies that inject money in Uganda sports and Para-Badminton became the latest sport to receive sponsorship package .
Santosh Gumte, Plascon Uganda’s Managing Director announced the deal went on to reveal why they choose Badminton;

“It’s a new sport we have never supported, so when they came to us and couldn’t say no”
”we’re very happy to partner with them and provide the support that we can, again the support is very specific for this tournament”
This will be the 7th edition of para Badminton and over 250 players are expected to come from 17 countries from 4 continents; Africa, America, Asian and Europe.
Uganda Badminton Association CEO, Simon Mugabi came out to enlighten more on the deal;

“We’re happy for the sponsorship from Plascon” an excited Simon Mugabi revealed
“With all said the sponsorship is in two forms, cash and Material such as Umpire kits and branding.” Concluded UBA CEO Simon Mugabi
Since this will act as a Point collection stage for some, others hope to use the seven days tournament as a build to the upcoming Para-Olympics.
