- Mbale Heroes 1-1 Police
- Kitara 1-0 URA
- Bright Stars 0-2 BUL
Mbale Heroes secured a hard fought 1-1 draw against Police FC in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match played in Mbale Municipal Stadium.
Substitute Cosia Waiswa scored the equalizer in 93rd minute canceling out a 75th minute goal by Gerard Ogweti which put Police FC in the lead.
As we continue to mourn the passing away of Vipers SC midfielder Abubaker Lawal, a one minute moment of silence was observed in Mbale Municipal stadium and later on Police FC dominated the game from the start as they looked the favorites to secure maximum points.
The Cops dominated but they found Mbale Heroes goalkeeper Simon Mabuya in top form making a couple of saves with first half ending with a 0-0 a score.
It was a game of attack versus defence with Police FC struggling to break down Mbale Heroes defense line as it needed the former surgeons player Gerarad Ogweti to break the dead lock in the 75th minute as he pounced on a rebound after a Allan Bukenya shot rattled the woodwork.
Mbale Heroes patiently waited for their chance and it fall to substitute Cosia Waiswa who slotted the ball in the back of the net in the 93rd minute as they secured a 1-1 draw.
Elsewhere in Hoima, Kitara edged URA 1-0 with the only goal coming in the opening half while BUL managed to collect a crucial away win in Kavumba, against Bright Stars to end it 0-2.
BUL’s goals came from Walter Ochora at the hour mark and Karim Ndugwa ten minutes later.
