Vipers have comfortably beaten URA 2-0 at the St Mary’s Stadium kitende on Thursday night

New signing Eric Kenzo Kambale opened up the score for the hosts as early as the 8th minute thanks to a well directed Abubaker Lawal pass from outside the box.

Despite David Obua’s boys possessing the game, the first 45 minutes left them in the losing side.

Into the second half, Abdul Lumala scored the second goal for the Venoms 7 minutes after the restart capitalizing on a unsuccessful back pass from Najib Fesali then he went past the goalkeeper Denis Otim before scoring in an empty net.

Minutes later, there were a number of shots from Eric Kambale, Rodrigue Shamamba, Karim Watambala and Lawal but URA shot stopper Denis Otim was up to the task.

However on the hosts’ side, Fabian Mutombola also saved two crucial attempts from Moses Aliro, Saidi Kyeyune to keep a clean sheet on the evening.

With 12 minutes left on the clock, Viper’s left back Isa Mubiru received a send off after being shown a second yellow card.

Three minutes earlier the man of the match, forward Eric Kambale came off for the venoms only for his teammate Allan Okello to make his debut.

Vipers now sit in second position with 17 points in 8 games while URA in the 8th position with 10 points

The Venoms will travel to Bombo on 30th November to play against UPDF while the Tax collectors will host Express at Mehta stadium in Lugazi on 1st November.
