Startimes UPL: Vipers host SC Villa as they hope to continue winning run


Vipers will aim at riding on their recent form as they face a wounded SC Villa with hope of closing in at the top of the Startimes Uganda Premier League on Tuesday at the the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende

The Venoms currently sit third on the log with 17 points just four below table leaders Wakiso Giants FC who are on 21.

Their consistent – striking duo at home of Yunus Ssentamu (if he plays) and Milton Karisa will have to be at their very best in order to help the team maintain their winning ways at home. The duo has so far scored a total of 6 goals at home this season.

Vipers managed to collect maximum points from their last four games and will hope its no different to get three points this time round.

On the other side, they face SC Villa who sit 5th on the log with 14 points from 9 games, have had a balanced kind of performance so far.

They have won five games, drawn once and lost thrice some thing that will boost their minds heading into this fixture.

Joogos will hope to utilise their forward Travis Mutyaba who played in their previous game which they lost to rivals KCCA FC 3-0.

They will continue to put their trust in the young squad they hold with hope of having their fans in the stadium to give the players support.

Vipers won their last game away in Mukono 1-0 against URA courtesy of a Ibrahim Orit goal while SC Villa at their new home lost to KCCA 3-0 in the opening half.

A win for Vipers will take them to second in place of BUL with 20 a point behind leaders Wakiso Giants.

For SC Villa, it will take them to 17 points above KCCA FC in fourth, level on points with BUL and Vipers.
