The StarTimes Uganda Premier League match day resumed on Sunday evening at three different playgrounds
UPDF held on to over Soltilo Bright Stars, Arua Hill extended Tooro United winless run while Vipers netted late equalizer to draw with KCCA FC.
Starting off in Bombo, Ezekiel Katende and James Begisa were on target as UPDF FC overcame Soltilo Bright Stars 2-1.
Nelson Ssekatuka netted a consolation for the visitors.
Katende put the hosts ahead in the 11th minute after a nice ball from Ivan Ahimbisibwe before Ssekatuka leveled matters for the Stars.
Begisa restored UPDF’s lead after his cross was miss-handled by Simon Tamale in the Bright Stars goal.
UPDF also had a penalty saved by Tamale after Ahimbisibwe was fouled in the forbidden area. Musa Mudde stepped up but his kick was too weak.
The hard-fought victory is UPDF’s third consecutive league victory this season and now move third on the log with 17 points.
While Bright Stars who have suffered back to back defeats remain 14th with 5 points.
In Arua, Arua Hill humbled Tooro United 3-1 at the Barifa Stadium to subject the Fort Portal side to a seventh consecutive defeat.
Alfred Leku, Samuel Ssekamatte and Innocent Maduka were on target to ensure the leopards secured maximum points at home.
Mwanje Hussein netted Tooro United’s consolation.
Victory takes Arua Hill to sixth position on the log with 13 points in eight games, while a loss Tooro United remain on four points.
