After 14 games, Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) FC has finally registered its first win of the season after overcoming Kyetume FC 1-0 at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru on Thursday afternoon.
Paul Musamali’s second-half strike was enough to inspire the Flying Eagles to a memorable victory in the early kick-off, a game that witnessed many absentees return to play for the Malaba based side.
The first half of the game ended goalless as both sides failed to get the better of each other in the opening half. Both were forced to early substitutions as Ezira Bida came on for Ezera Kaye for Kyetume, while Derrick Basoga came off for Ambrose Kirya in the 9th minute for the visitors.
With twenty minutes to play, the game witnessed its first and only goal when Paul Musamali put his effort past Joel Mutakubwa in the Slaughterers goal.
MYDA held onto the victory, their first in 15 matches since being elevated to the Uganda Premier League, and that takes them to 6 points moving to 15th position on the 16 team log.
Consequently, Kyetume has been subjected to their seventh loss of the campaign which leaves them in the 13th position with 12 points.
