Paul Mucureezi came off the bench in the second half to score a freekick as Vipers drew 1-all with UPDF in Bombo on Friday.

Mucureezi was introduced on in the 64th minute for Disan Galiwango and it took him only 10 minutes to score the equaliser from a free kick after he was fouled just outside the area by Rogers Adriko.

Ivan Ahimbisibse had put the Army men ahead from the spot after he was bought down by Galiwango in the first half.

Before that opener by UPDF though, Vipers had several chance to break the deadlock but Ceasar Manzoki and Yunus Sentamu failed to find the target on multiple occasions.

The home side, had a chance to extend their lead before the vipers goal but Geoffrey Sunday rattled the crossbar.

Vipers tried to win it later on but the UPDF back line remained discipline to deny the venom’s attacks.

1-all it ended and Vipers move to 40 points in 18 games and are now four points ahead of KCCA who play Onduparaka on Saturday at Lugogo.

Meanwhile UPDF stay 8th with 22 points in 18 games.
