Center Referee Ronald Madanda and Onduparaka midfielder Rashid Okocha have been banned by FUFA for the ugly scenes that happened in Arua during the StarTimes Uganda Premier League abandoned game between KCCA FC and Onduparaka.
The said game failed to finish after Onduparaka fans invaded the pitch to protest Madada’s decision to award KCCA a late penalty with the score 2-2.
Okocha has been banned for all football activi for five months while Madanda has been suspended from officiating for six months.
The bans were confirmed on Friday in a ruling posted by FUFA on their website
“The FUFA CDP suspends Rashid Okocha from all football activities effective 31st December 2021 until 31st May 2022.” reads FUFA statement in parts;
“The Referees Disciplinary Panel found that the Centre Referee Madanda Ronald failed to justify the poor officiating which gravely affected match number 101 and he is hereby sanctioned with a suspension from officiating football at all levels until 30th June 2022 for unjustified poor officiation.”
Furthermore, Onduparaka has been deducted two points and two goals for whatever happened at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua
The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel has also ordered the abandoned match between Onduparaka and KCCA FC to be replayed at a neutral venue.
