The Federation of Uganda Football Association ( FUFA) has slapped Assistant Referee Juma Osire with a one month ban from all football related activities.

Osire made a wrong call during a StarTimes Uganda Premier league match between Vipers SC and Police FC at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende where goalkeeper Derrick Ochan was wrongly sent off by center referee George Olemu for alledgingly handling the ball out of his penalty area.

The FUFA Referee Disciplinary Panel started investigation into the matter and it was found out that Osire made a mistake after he was poorly positioned hence causing the center referee, Olemu to wrongly issue out a red card to Ochan.

” FUFA has sanctioned Juma Osire with a One month ban form all football relàted activities effective immediately as of 3rd March 2021″ part of the statement from FUFA read.

The red card was later rescinded by FUFA after a review and Ochan was eligible to play Police’s next game against Soltilo Bright Stars at then MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo but he was an unused substitute.
