Defending champions Express FC will be seeking to arrest bad patch of form as they host Police FC at the Betway Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Tuesday.
The Red Eagles have endured a poor start to the second round of the season and they are winless in eight. In those eight, they have drawn with all the teams they have faced apart from Busoga United who they lost to.
It’s really a poor show from Interim coach James Odoch ’s charges who had been in great form at this part of last season and were seen as potential title contenders.
However, despite the winless streak, head coach James Odoch is optimistic they can get off the mark against Police FC after a few good displays.
“We’ve prepared well ahead of our home game against Police FC. We’re all aware how important this game is because we’ve gone eight games across all competitions without winning but we’ve used this time to prepare well” he said
“Police FC is a sturborn team that’s for sure and they also have experienced players like Tonny Mawejje, Frank Kalanda and Juma Balinya but we shall do our best to win” he added
When asked about Kambale he concluded and said;”I am happy that Erick Kambale is back, he missed our previous game but now he is in the right mental strength to play”
Playing at home against the Cops, the Red Eagles need to start finding the back of the net as it has seemed their biggest challenge this season.
On the other hand, Police FC, who are lingering in 9th position with 24 points aren’t safe from relegation as they sit only four points above the survival line with eight games left.
The Cops are unbeaten in their last four games, having drawn with Busoga United, KCCA and Gaddafi FC. The other game was a 4-2 home victory against Tooro United.
They seem a more rejuvenated side of recent and have put aside their early season worries.
