StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC wrapped up their 2021/22 season with a 5-0 humbling of Police FC at St.Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Milton Karisa and Bobosi Byaruhanga netted a brace each while Yunus Sentamu had one as the Venoms superbly won on their coronation day.
Karisa opening the scoring in the 6th minute, just before a moment of honour was awarded to Police FC skipper Tonny Mawejje, who was playing his last match.
Karisa doubled his side’s lead after the break when he was first to react on Bobosi’s shot that initially hit the post and came back to play for the forward to finish off.
Few moments afterwards, it was 3-0 for Vipers with this time Bobosi finding the back of the net after several attempts at goal.
Bobosi completed his brace with 20 minutes left on the clock with a wonderful effort.
Sentamu made it 5-0 for Vipers before the end of the game to score his 14th of the season and add salt to Police’s wounds.
With the victory, Vipers finished the season with 74 points, a record 18 points ahead of second placed KCCA FC, who lost to Wakiso Giants on the closing day on Saturday.
After the game, Vipers were handed their fifth Uganda Premier League title by the FUFA president Moses Magogo.
Vipers have a chance to win their first double in history as they face BUL FC in the final of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
