Busoga United has yet again continued their survival surge with a vital victory over Wakiso Giants.

The Jinja based side defeated the Purple Sharks 2-1 at the Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.

George Kaddu netted an own goal at almost the death of the game to help Busoga United secure a vital victory on the day.

Before Kaddu’s own goal, the scores were tied level after an Anthony Mayanja’s own goal cancelled out Dickson Niwamanya’s second half opener for Busoga United.

With the victory, Busoga United move to 29 points and now are four points ahead the relegation zone with three games left.

For Wakiso, they remain seventh on the log with 36 points.

In the other game of the day, SC Villa and Police continued their survival struggles after the two sides played out to a goalless draw at Lugogo.

SC Villa had a chance to win it from a spot kick but Benson Muhindo blazed his kick from six yards over the crossbar.

After the draw, Police occupy the last relegation place with 25 points, three points adrift of Gaddafi, who occupy the last survival spot.

For Villa, they are four points above safety with 29 points with three games left.

Both sides still have to play BUL and Champions Vipers in their last three games.

The league will return on Tuesday with two games with KCCA and Vipers in action.
