Midfielder Solomon Okwalinga has extended his contract at Uganda Premier league side Mbarara City FC.

The former KCCA player has put pen to paper on a new three-year contract after his contract had expired at the end of last season.

This was confirmed by the Ankole Lions on Monday throughout their social media platforms.

“We are delighted to announce that Okwalinga Solomon has extended his stay at the club for more 3 years till 2024!” the club confirmed on Monday morning.

Okwalinga started off his professional career at Synergy FC before he left them to join Mbarara City after the club gained promotion to the Uganda Premier League.

In 2018, he left the Ankole Lions to join KCCA before having a short stint at Onduparaka.

In 2019, he re-joined Mbarara City on a two-year employment contract.

He becomes the third player to extend his contract after Jude Ssemugabi and Martin Elugat.

Next season, Mbarara City will be coached by Kefa Kisala, who replaced Charles Livingstone Mbabazi last month.

Last season, they finished seventh on the log with 38 points in 27 games.
