With all the advantage in their hands, SC Villa can see the finishing line for the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League season but all the questions at this point of time may not have answers, the leading one being ‘WILL SC VILLA WIN THEIR FIRST LEAGUE TITLE SINCE 2004?’.

One fixture remains and first up as the Jogoo will go against the tax collectors, URA FC. However, as the game has been scheduled for Saturday May 27, it means that whilst Jogoos have the weekend to celebrate the trophy if they grab a win.

On a day when all the three title contenders will be playing at the same time, both of the rivals will also be playing at home as Vipers will host Busoga United and KCCA will welcome Bright Stars.

The clash at the St Mary’s Stadium- Kitende, Vipers are back at the ground where their CAF Champions League qualification hopes were activated last season with hope to retain that status .

The Kitende outfit wrap the season up against a Busoga side in the dream scenario with hope that the side may not be harder than the other opponents with the fact that they are free from relegation after both Blacks Power and Onduparaka were confirmed.

For KCCA FC, inconsistency has been the main problem in all the competitions they have been involved in but they got to get it right this time with hope that the other sides do otherwise when they face Bright stars in Lugogo.

However, after failing to win in five and losing to Vipers in the five, the Kasasiro boys are no longer in control of their own destiny with regard to the title race and this means they would benefit greatly from a favour or two from some of their League rivals.

With the potential of a huge and dramatic final match day on the cards in the League, thetouchlinesports.com has taken a look at what would be the best and worst-case scenarios for all the teams in the title race.

SC Villa case scenarios to clinch trophy.

SC Villa vs URA FC – HOME WIN or DRAW

For those that believe in short term history repeating itself, here’s one that might provide hope of SC Villa winning this this weekend and thus boosting it’s chances of being crowned Uganda Premier League champions on Saturday.

This season alone URA have not beaten Villa but sadly have lost and drawn three of the last six meetings but with a two point advantage they have three possiblities to win the League at this point;

WIN
With a win, they will not have to mind about the results in the the other games results since it will take them to 55 points other games left constant.

Draw
With a draw, SC Villa will have to hope that both Vipers and KCCA don’t win because if they do, will both move level on points but the 2021/22 Champions will have a better goal difference.

Loss.
With a loss, SC Villa will hope both Vipers and KCCA draw or lose to their respective opponents inorder to fuel the pre-match celebrations.
