Crested Cranes forward Sandra Nabweteme has signed her first professional football contract with Icelandic women’s football team Thor/Ka.
Nabweteme joins Thor/ka after having completed her engineering studies last year at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU), USA.
The former Kawempe Muslim forward has been handed the number 10 jersey.

Before moving to the USA, Nabweteme played for Kawempe Muslim and guided them to their first two titles in the FWEL titles as top scorer in the 2014/15 (17 goals) and 2015/16 (23) seasons – making her an instant inspiration for peers and juniors alike.
With SWOSU in 2019, she set a record as the school’s all-time leading scorer, surpassing Burkina Faso striker Almata Rabo (74 goals) and winning a host of other accolades.

Thor/KA is an Icelandic women’s football team based in Akureyri. It is a joint team fielded by Þór Akureyri and Knattspyrnufélag Akureyrar and currently competes in Úrvalsdeild Kvenna.
The Club was founded in 1999 and are two-time holders of the Icelandic championship, Úrvalsdeild Kvenna (2012, 2017)
