Rugby Cranes gear up for Africa Mens Sevens

The Ugandan rugby national team, the  Rugby Cranes is gearing up for the Africa men’s seven rugby tournament to be held in South Africa this weekend from 8th to 9th November 2019. The Bosman Stadium, Johannesburg will host the African sevens tournament.

The tournament will also act as the African qualifer for a spot in the tokyo 2020 olympics games and 14 teams will Battle out for that one golden place.

The second placed team will have another chance to qualify for the Olympics at the repechange tournament in June 2020.

The confirmed teams set to participate are; Zimbabwe, Kenya,Uganda, Madagascar,Zambia,Tunisia,Senegal,Morocco,Namibia,Ghana,Botswana,Mauritius, Cote de Ivoire and Nigeria.

Cranes came third in last years tournament just behind Zimbabwe Cheetahs and Kenya.
