Recap: SUPL Matchday 24, the Relegation dispute is on.

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League Matchday 24 as it happened with the relegation battle becoming tight as teams fight for survival. Four teams are battling for survival as just a three-point gap separates the 13th placed Maroons from last-placed Proline. Maroons (13) has 24points, Police (14) has 22 points, Tooro United (15) has got 22points, Proline (16) has got 21 points.

Matchday 24 saw a total number of 22 goals scored with table leaders Vipers SC registering the highest number of goals on the day, 16 yellow cards were awarded in the eight games and one red card.

Vipers SC 5-0 Maroons
Fred Kajoba guided Vipers SC past Douglas Bamweyana’s Maroons in a five-goal thriller at the St Mary’s Stadium Kitende. Allan Kayiwa, Brian Nkuubi, Milton Karisa, Paul Mucureezi and Abraham Ndugwa registered their names on the scoring sheet as Vipers maintained their title hopes with a four-point gap at the top of the log. Maroons now face the relegation battle at the 13position just three points from last-placed Proline.

Express 1-2 URA SC
Express’ return to their famous home ground Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku was haunted by a 2-1 defeat against URA SC behind closed doors. Mikidad Ssenyonga bagged his first goal for the tax collectors in the 15th minute and Anwar Ntege netted in the 49th minute. Frank Kalanda scored the consolation for the red eagles.

Police 0-1 KCCA FC
Defending champions of KCCA FC continue with their title chase as they managed to defeat stubborn Police at the Startimes stadium Lugogo in a 1-0 victory courtesy of a Herbert Achai powerful strike in the 20th minute. KCCA now lie second on 49 points as Police survival battle is still on in the 14th position.

SC Villa 2-1 Bright stars
SC Villa returned to winning ways as they come from a goal down to clinch the three points off Bright stars who had a good start in the game. Super substitute Benson Muhindo made the difference as he set up Emmanuel Wasswa in the 63rd minute for the equalizer an also netted the winning goal in the 74th minute. Kalisa put Bright stars ahead in the 16th minute a game played at Mandela National Stadium.

Kyetume 3-2 Onduparaka
Robert Ssentongo bagged a brace as Kyetume defeated Onduparaka 3-2 in the Startimes Uganda premier league game at the mighty arena in Jinja. Baker Buyala netted the other goal for Kyetume as Kakooza and Malingumu Julius scored the two goals for Onduparaka.

Busoga 1-0 Wakiso Giants
10 men, Busoga United managed to hold onto a first-half goal from Sharif Kimbowa as they secured a 1-0 win against the Purple Sharks of Wakiso at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.

Mbarara 1-0 BUL
BUL FC’s poor form continues as they succumbed to 1-0 defeat against Mbarara City FC away at Kakyeka stadium in Mbarara. Skipper Hillary Mukundane scored for the hosts.

Proline 2-1 Tooro united
Proline resurrected their survival battle with a 2-1 win against relegation candidates Tooro at the StarTimes stadium. A brace from Bright Anukani in the 17th minute and the 73rd minute ensured victory for Proline. Mike Kawooya scored for Tooro in the 86th minute of the game
