The Uganda National Netball League has returned from a long breakoff that was forced by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The post covid lockdown has been rough on sports in Uganda with many failing to resume local competitions but for netball, they have defied odds to return to action.
Police netball club today eased to a 57-36 victory over Posta netball club at the Kibuli playground to return to the top of the pile with their second win of the season.
Goal shooter Namukose Specioza was the star of the day for the lady cops with 43 points followed by Nagayi Lillian with 13 points
Bridget Namuddu contributed 23 points for Posta followed by Namugga Hellen with 12 points.
Despite the 21 point difference today, police’s captain Kwagala Barbara feels they haven’t done enough yet they have their eyes on the league trophy, while the losers blame it on player absence.
In the other game at Luzira playgrounds, prisons beat UGX Luweero 63-31.
The league returns on Saturday with UPDF VS NIC, police vs UGX Luwero, Prisons vs KCCA, and Posta Uganda vs KBK.
