KCCA FC Soccer Academy graduate Allan Okello departed KCCA FC to Algerian Ligue 1 side Paradou Athletic Club on a four-year deal.

Mike Mutebi the head coach at KCCA FC is not carried away by the departure of his star player and believes new senior team recruit Sunday Opio will ably fit in the departed star’s role at the Club.

Sunday (Opio) has all that it takes to be a star at KCCA FC. We have been with this boy for two years now and he has displayed some quality and good technique. He can only become better.

Said Mutebi while addressing the Club’s media.

Opio who has so far started 2 games for KCCA FC and helped Mike Mutebi to a 1 -0 victory over Tooro United on Friday 17th January 2020 at the Startimes Lugogo.

Just like Allan Okelo, Mustafa Kizza and others, Opio Sunday and other youngsters can go down that lane.

He has been through our development side and knows the ethos and values of this club.

He has been nurtured to fit in the system and our philosophy.

Mutebi added.

At 16 years of age, Allan Okello was handed his league debut against Onduparaka in February 2017 and went on to bag a hattrick in a 7-0 drubbing of Onduaparaka FC at the then Phillip Omondi Stadium. Since then Okello went on to register 112 appearances and netting 39 goals for the club in all competitions.

We shall insist on grooming these players  into becoming Champions and also to believe that they are extremely talented players.

If they can stay grounded and loyal to the process, the sky is the limit for them.’

Mike Mutebi concluded.
