FUFA President Eng. Moses Hassim Magogo has been declared the ruling National Resistance Movement party candidate for Budiope East constituency after winning the party primaries held on Friday.
Magogo defeated his closest rival and the incumbent, Geoffrey Dhamuzungu, Takozekibi David Geoffrey, Kalwaza Mustapha, and Kirunda Sulaiman.
Magogo collected 59,951 votes representing 79.6% against Dhamuzungu’s 13,756 votes.
The FUFA president was declared the winner shortly before 11 pm by the NRM returning officer and is now expected to contest with Moses Bigirwa and Aggrey Ngobi for the parliamentary seat next year.
