Mbarara complete semifinals lineup of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

A Henry Kitegenyi late goal sends Mbarara City FC to the semi’s in the Uganda Cup as they overcame Mbale Heroes FC at the Kakyeka Stadium on Wednesday.

The Ankole Lions fiercely fought for a win over a resistant Mbale Heroes to join in the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup for the first time.

The striker scored the only goal in the 88th minute, two minutes to the end of the game.

The goal eventually turned out to be the decisive moment of the closely contested affair.

Mbarara City progress to the next stage joining Vipers SC who beat Wakiso Giants 3-1 in Wakiso, Bul FC who struck SC Villa 2-1 late in extra time and Booma FC, a regional league side from Kitara region who put away Big league side Maroons FC 2-1.

The semifinal draws will be conducted by FUFA on a date yet to be communicated.
