Mandy Juruni: Former City Oilers coach joins Rwandan side

Long serving City Oilers coach Mandy Lutwama Juruni has joined Rwandan side Kepler Basketball Club as new head Coach on a two year employment deal. 

Juruni is the most decorated coach in Ugandan basketball with 15 league titles with City Oilers: (9), leading them to two Zone V Championships in 2017 and 2019.

The other National Basketball League Championships were won with JKL Lady Dolphins (2), KCCA (2) and one each for UCU Lady Canons and Kyambogo Warriors.

He was also a head coach of the senior National Basketball team, the Silverbacks in 2015 and 2017 in the AfroBasket not forgetting 2018 and 2022 for the World Cup qualifers.

With a number of fans’ eyes on his Assistant Coach Andrew Tendo, we await to see what’s next for the BAL bound nine time Champions, City Oilers with reports stating that all their eyes set on UCU’s Nick Natuhereza and International market at large.
