With the opening round of 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers around the corner, both Algeria’s captain Riyad Mahrez and striker Baghdad Bounedjah will the games against Uganda and the other against Tanzania.
The Manchester City winger asked Algeria National Team coach Djamel Belmadi to be put out of the two games because of fatigue and lack of fitness, according to reports while Bounedjah is recovering from an injury.

For Mahrez this is not the first time he has asked to be left out after missing the friendly game against Ghana before Africa Cup of Nations.
Algeria will host Uganda on 4th June in Oran and visit the Taifa stars of Tanzania four days later.
