Jacob Kiplimo has become just only the fourth athlete to win both the 10,000m and 5000m races at a single Commonwealth games.
Have won the 10,000m race on Tuesday, the Ugandan long distance runner also ran a fastest time 13:08:08 to win the 5000m race in Birmingham.
Kiplimo rocketed past Kenya’s Nicholas Kimeli and Jacob Krop at the final stretch to win his second gold in this year’s games in England.
Kimeli settled for Silver while Krop took bronze.
Kiplimo becomes the third Uganda to win both the 5000m and 10,000m double at Commonwealth after Moses Kipsiro and Joseph Cheptegei.
This is the third gold medal for Uganda as Victor Kiplangat won the nation’s first everything Gold medal in Marathon.
