KAVC to battle APR for the NSSF-KAVC title


Ugandan side Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club ( KAVC) will battle Rwanda’s APR for the 2022 NSSF-KAVC International title.

This is after these two sides negotiated past their semi-final opponents on Saturday at Lugogo Indoor Stadium . KAVC defeated 2019 runners-up Rukinzo 3-0 ( 25-21, 25-23, 25-15) while APR swept REG also by 3-0 ( 25-20, 25-13, 25-21)

In the quarter finals, KAVC spiked off COBRA while APR eliminated KCCA.

This is going to be the second time these two sides are meeting in this year’s tournament after KAVC swept APR 3-0 earlier on in the Pool A game played on Friday evening.

KAVC are aiming for their 8th title in the men’s championship while APR wants to win their third gong, having won the previous two in 2005 and 2018 respectively.

But before the men’s final, APR will battle out with either KCCA and VVC for the women’s title while also the primary school’s final will be held.

NSSF, who have supported this tournament for the last 12 years are the main sponsors of this tournament again after having injected Shs.70m into the 3-day tourney.
