FUFA Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of football Decolas Kizza has requested that the Uganda Premier League Secretariat releases the 2021/22 season draft fixtures without Busoga United.

This comes after the Jinja-based side failed to get clearance from the FUFA Licensing Committee due to lack of minimum players on the FUFA Connect System.

This revelation was made in a letter by Kizza addressed to Mr. Bainamani Bernard Bainamani, the UPL CEO on 29th September 2021.

“One(1) club has not been cleared due to lack of minimum players on the FUFA Connect System and it should not be included on the fixture” read the letter in parts.

“This is, therefore, to request you to proceed with the fixture of the season 2021/22 without Busoga United which has two days to appeal.”

It should be noted that the club had a deadline of August 20th, 2021 to submit the minimum requirements to the FUFA Licensing Committee and according to FUFA, 10  of the 16 clubs have fully submitted minimum requirements and have been cleared to include in the draft fixtures.

They include Express, KCCA, Wakiso Giants, Vipers, Soltilo Bright Stars, Mbarara City, Police, BUL, Arua Hill and Onduparaka.

While SC Villa, UPDF, URA, Gaddafi and Tooro United have been given until 4th, October to work on their grounds or look for alternative stadiums.

The 2021/22 Uganda Premier League season is set to kick off on 15th October 2021.
