Joseph Benson Ochaya: defender renews contract with TP Mazembe

Uganda Cranes defender Joseph Benson Ochaya has finally extended his stay at Congo’s giants  TP Mazembe for at least two more years.

The development was announced on the official club website on Monday evening.

“TPM is pleased to announce the extension of Joseph Benson OCHAYA’s contract for two more seasons, until September 2022. Joseph Benson OCHAYA and management agreed on Sunday, September 6,”  Part of the statement read.

Ochaya joined the Ravens on a two-and-half year contract and has gone on to feature 32 times for the club, scoring 2 goals and making 4 assists.

On the local scene, the 26-year old featured for Kampala Capital City Authority FC three times in his career with moves to Navibank Sài Gòn F.C and Asante Kotoko between them.

He also featured for Zambia’s Lusaka dynamos before joining Mazembe in 2018.

On the national team, the cranes, Ochaya has garnered 49 caps and scored 2 goals since he making his debut in 2012.
