Former Express boss Wasswa Bbosa replaced Brian Ssenyondo at Kitara FC as new Head Coach on Monday afternoon.
Ssenyondo who was relieved of his duties on Sunday had managed to bring home a Uganda Cup trophy and CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round experience.

Brian Ssenyondo
This season the youthful tactician had managed only one win, draw and four losses in their six games, going on to achieve a total of 19 wins, 6 draws and 11 loses in his Uganda Premier League career at Kitara.
Kitara needed a man who will better these numbers this season to match their target of winning the trophy.
However this is where the question comes in is Wasswa Bbosa the right man for the job?
Bbosa takes loads of experience and success to Kitara having previously won the 2019/20 Uganda Premier League title and the 2020 CECAFA Kagame Cup with Express FC.
However he has previously held coaching roles at the different UPL Clubs like SC Villa, Tooro United FC, Gaddafi FC and recently Mbarara City FC.
So he is expected to bolster the team’s performance after a poor start to the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League campaign since it’s evident most of the time every player would like to prove his worthy of a starting place.
He comes in an experienced technical team which includes; George Lutalo – Assistant coach, Hassan Mubiru – 2nd Assistant coach, Richard Kansole – Goal Keeping coach, Ayub Balyejusa – Fitness trainer, Aloysius Makubuya – Team Doctor and Alex Mugisha – Team Statistician
Bbosa has brought in George Lutalo as a part of his coaching staff a man with vast experience having previously coached Big League side Buhimba United, Uganda Women National team Crested Cranes, URA FC, Kitara FC, JMC Hippos, Soana FC, Onduparaka FC and Gaddafi FC.
Not forgetting reknown Uganda Cranes, SC Villa and Express goal scorer Hassan Mubiru who recently was trusted with assisting different coaches at the Former Wankulukuku side.
With this put in perceptive the ideas will try to match up and the rest will be left to Bbosa to make the decision of how the team will play.
Bbosa is also well known of signing a number of players as he heads into a season in all the clubs his been, those labeled as his kind of players but this time round has entered this season after the transfer period and his expected to use those available players.
Therefore he will have to access all the players and see those he wants to use in alignment with his way of play despite having coached some like Arthur Kiggundu (Express) and Ivan Sserubiri (Gaddafi).
If his the right man for the job will depend on the results he brings forward since Kitara is a community based Club that thrives more with the fan base who want to see good football and mainly results.
The other beat will depend on the fulfillment of the target set by the Club board. Last season as the club came from the big League the target to finish fifth in the UPL they attained that with better.
This season with more signings, Kitara set the bar high and want to win the trophy but all seems like there is time but a there is a football saying that “You can’t win the trophy in the first ten games of the season but you can lose it” the Hoima side going to take the preventive measure of parting ways with Ssenyondo.
Bbosa’s assignment begins with Friday’s fixture against URA FC away at the Hamz Stadium – Nakivubo.
Kitara are 14th on the Uganda Premier League table with just 4 points out of the possible 18 and one more than bottom placed Bright Stars.
