Vipers SC midfielder Usama Arafat has praised club president Lawrence Mulindwa for his leadership and commitment towards the players at the club.
Arafat described Dr. Mulindwa as a father figure, highlighting the winning mentality and professional environment he has created at the reigning Uganda Premier League champions.
“Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa is who he thinks he is. He is a father to us. He’s a winner. He’s the best president you can ever ask for,” Arafat said while appearing on NBS Sports The Pavilion on Thursday evening.
The midfielder further explained that the club president constantly pushes players to maximize their potential by providing everything necessary for success while demanding responsibility and performance in return.
“He puts you in a place where you have to demand yourself. He’ll give you everything and it’ll then be up to you to deliver,” he added.
Arafat also revealed that the club’s ambitions have now shifted beyond domestic success, with the focus turning towards continental football.

“Vipers is a very competitive and ambitious place. Right now we’re done winning the league, Dr. Mulindwa wants us to focus on something else, the Champions League,” he noted.
Usama, who joined Vipers SC from KCCA FC in September, turned out to be one of the club’s and league’s best signings of the season.
The winger enjoyed an impressive debut campaign, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists as Vipers reclaimed the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title.
His creativity, consistency and influence in attack made him one of the standout performers during the season and a key figure in Vipers’ successful title run, and in recognition won the Presidential Award handed out by Dr. Mulindwa
