Wakiso Giants midfielder Gadafi Wahab says facing his former employees, Onduparaka FC in the StarTimes UPL game on Tuesday evening at the Greenlight Stadium, Arua will be an emotional encounter for him.
The midfield maestro spent six and half years with the caterpillars before switching to the purple sharks last season in January.
“It’s my first time to face Onduparaka and it’s emotional,” Wahab told the Wakiso Giants website before adding;
“I enjoyed my time at the club, it was like a family and spent six and half years – still got friends there and because of the team, I am here at Wakiso Giants. Without them, I wouldn’t be the player I am today.”
Regardless of the emotional attachments, Wahab is focused to help his current club, Wakiso Giants, collect maximum points in Arua.
“I have emotional attachments but I don’t think that will hinder my performance against them because my home is currently Wakiso Giants.”
“The game has come at a time when we are desperate to get off the mark and we are targeting maximum points.”
Wahab has also confirmed that he will not celebrate incase he gets a goal against his former side.
Wakiso giants won the last league encounter between the two sides courtesy of Vianney Ssekajungo’s strike at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakisha.
