Mengo City has made history by sweeping both the Futsal Super League Awards for January.
Head Coach Abdifatah Abdullahi has been named the Luka Pharmacy Coach of the Month, while defender Samuel Omara has claimed the Ssaka Bulk Hauliers Player of the Month title.
Omara’s victory was impressive, winning both the public and technical votes. In the public vote, he secured 55% of the votes on social media, which contributed to 22% of the total.

His dominance continued in the technical vote, where he received 51%, leading to a convincing win.
Omara’s strong performance was pivotal in Mengo City’s unbeaten run in January, further highlighting his importance to the team.
Meanwhile, Abdifatah Abdullahi triumphed over tough competition from Kabuusu Clouds’ Richard Lukyamuzi and Park FC’s Sulaiman Matovu to win Coach of the Month.

Despite finishing second in the public vote with 11.6%, Abdifatah’s success in the technical vote, where he earned 43%, proved decisive.
This secured him the award, marking his significant coaching contribution to Mengo City’s success.
This double achievement for Mengo City is historic, as it is the first time in the league’s history that a club has won both awards in the same month.
