Phiona Nabbumba scored the all important goal as She Corporates overcame Tooro United 1-0 in FUFA Women Super league game played at MUBS Arena in Nakawa.

The Nakawa based ladies who are still unbeaten, had only managed two draws in all the eight games they had played, before this win.

For Tooro Queens, they suffer their second defeat away from home and their third of the season.

Its was an evenly contested opening 45 minutes, more so in ball possession and fewer chances created because the ball was more in the middle of the park.

However, Phiona ’s strike proved the difference and to be specific it was She Corporate  that posed the first threat to visitors defence and thanks to Naume Nagadya’s pass that was read poorly by goalie Gloria Namakula , Phiona pounced in to break the deadlock ( which proved the winner)

With the introduction of Ruth Nyakato in place of Imelda Kasemire in the second stanza, the visitors dominated but failed to create any clear chance to penetrate She Corporate which had an outstanding goalkeeping display in Daphine Nyayenga.

She Corporates held to secure the much needed victory, which takes them to 20 points and sit atop of the log with 8 games played.

While a loss for Tooro Queens sees them drop to 7th with 8 points as we head into the second round.
