The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Referees Disciplinary Panle has suspended referee Ronald Kirangwa for not sending off a player.

In the StarTimes Uganda Premier game between Vipers SC and Wakiso Giants FC at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Friday October 22, Kirangwa failed to send off goalkeeper Samson Kirya in a ‘challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent’ according to Panel.

Kirya fouled Vipers SC winger Ibrahim Orit outside the box but Kirangwa issued a yellow card instead of sending off the Wakiso Giants custodian for a last-man tackle and stopping a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Following a video clip of the game and match assessor’s report, the Panle has decided to suspend Kirangwa for two weeks from all football officiation effective 27th October due to failure to recognize a challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent and denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity.

The panel has also authorised the Uganda Premier League (UPL) to sanction Wakiso Giants Goal keeper (Samson Kirya) as per the rules and regulations of the FUFA Competitions for a Red Card.
