FUFA confirms nicknames of Uganda’s National Football Teams

The Federation of Uganda Football Association has confirmed the nicknames of all Uganda’s National Football teams.

This was confirmed to the public on Tuesday evening after the 26th FUFA Executive Committee sat on Saturday 26th March 2022 at FUFA House in Mengo to deliberate on football matters that included reconfirming of nicknames of various Uganda national teams.

The U20 National Women’s Football team has been nicknamed the Queen Cranes while the U17 Women’s National team will be called the Teen Cranes. The men’s U15 National Football will be called the Uganda Rhinos.

The National men’s futsal team will be called the Nile Cranes.

While the senior men’s national team has maintained the Uganda Cranes nickname, same like the National Women’s Football team that has maintained the Crested Cranes nickname.

  • National Men’s (A) Football Team – Uganda Cranes
  • National Men’s (U23) Football Team -Uganda Kobs
  • National Men’s (U20) Football Team – Uganda Hippos
  • National Men’s (U17) Football Team – Uganda Cubs
  • National Men’s (U15) Football Team – Uganda Rhinos
Women
  • National Women’s (A) Football Team – Crested Cranes
  • National Women’s (U20) Football Team – Queen Cranes
  • National Women’s (U17) Football Team – Teen Cranes
    National Men’s Beach Soccer Team – Sand Cranes
  • National Men’s FUTSAL Team -Nile Cranes
