Mengo Sports Academy secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the Futsal Super League Frenzy Edition with a dominant 4-1 victory over Kisugu FC, completing the group stage on a perfect note.
This win at Old Kampala Futsal Arena saw Ian Tugume net a brace, while Arafat Kabanda, who was later sent off, also contributed to the scoreline.
Having earlier thrashed Kabuusu Clouds 5-1, Mengo matched Crown Lubiri’s flawless group stage performance.
Crown Lubiri also advanced unbeaten after overcoming Park FC and Busunju Sparks.
Both teams now progress as group leaders, with Park FC securing their spot as Group A runners-up after an 8-2 win over Busunju Sparks and a walkover from Kisugu FC.
In other groups, Edgar’s Youth Program topped Group C with four points and a superior goal difference over second-placed Mbarara QC, who defeated Lubaga Grameen 3-1, thanks to Deniel Ebedu’s brace.
Meanwhile, Kabowa Dream Team edged past Kisenyi FC to top Group B, both finishing with four points but separated by goal difference.
The quarterfinals, featuring Mengo Sports Academy, Crown Lubiri, Kabowa Dream Team, Edgar’s Youth Program, Kabuusu Clouds, Park FC, Kisenyi FC, and Mbarara QC, are set for Friday, February 21, 2025, at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
