The Uganda Men’s National Football team, The Cranes have lost 2-1 to Ethiopia in an international friendly game played at the Bahir Dar Stadium on Sunday.
Abubaker Nasir and Abel Yelew were on target for Ethiopia to ensure coach Micho begins his second term with a loss.
Substitute Yunus Ssentamu pulled a goal back for Uganda but wasn’t enough.
Ethiopia took the lead Midway the first half through Nasir’s strike and doubled it in the 54th minute with Yelew goal.
Three minutes afterwards, Uganda was given an array of hope when Sentamu pulled a goal back.
And it could have been level late on in the game had not been the crossbar to deny Joseph Ochaya’s freekick.
The game was organised as a build-up game ahead of Uganda’s FIFA World Cup qualifier games against Kenya and Mali.
Uganda will face Kenya on September 2nd at the Nyayo International Stadium before returning home four days afterwards to host Mali at the St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende.
